Unusable words - ”魂だけでいいんだぜ” - All We Need Is Just Only the Soul -

こちらを読んでて、うん、たしかに使う機会ない。と思ってたついでに日本語でそういう感じのものがないものかと探してみました。

題して「声に出して言わない日本語」。
The title is "some Japanese words that we won't say"

世の中には「はやまるな！」とか「お、おぼえてろー！」とか「ぎゃふん！」とか、有名だけどまあ一生使わない言葉があるわけで、
There are some words such as "Hold your horses!", "I'll get even with you!", "Oh crap!" or something that are famous but we won't use in our lifetime.

そういう言葉を集めて本にするというすごくくだらない企画なんですが、
And this is a silly plan to collect those kind of words and publish though,

世の中くだらない出版社があるもので似て非なる本をこの前みつけました。
There are already some silly publishers in this world, I found the similar book the other day.

『ベタ辞典』。大和書房刊。
It's "the Beta(stereotypical) dictionary" by Yamato Shobo.

「テレビや映画でよく見るシーン、サラリーマンや恋をしている人、お父さんやお母さんがつい家で言ってしまう定番の一言」を集めた本とのことで、
This book lists some typical expressions that office workers, lovers, Dad, and Mum unintentionally say in some scenes that often seen TV or movies:

「跡は若い二人にまかせて」とか
"Then, we'll let the young couple after that"

「どうだ。学校のほうは」とか
"How's your school?"

「ほらほら、さっきの威勢はどうした」
"Hey you! where's your briskness you had a little while ago?"

（生意気な主人公が弟子入り初日、師範代に軽くあしらわれる際に用いられるそうです）
(this word is used when the grand master plays with the antagonist to the insolent central character)

これアイデアはおもしろいと思うんですよ。
I think this idea is nice.

でも、売れてないですね。
But this book seems unsold.

「ぎゃふん！」は英語的にどう解釈していいのか正直よくわかりません。とても悩みました。今月TOEIC受けるってのにこんなことばかり。
